Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28 in 1967) is an American actress and singer. She began her acting career when she was a teenager. She is best known for her role as Maggie Beckett on the TV show Sliders, as well as as her character, Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the thriller-comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was born in Brookfield Connecticut as the daughter of Karin Noble, who worked as a payroll clerk, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer. She has been blessed with three brothers. When she was young she sang in clubs and went out to sing. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School, at 13 years old, she was a drama student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Then, she took classes at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the famed Uta Hagen. Her birth date was April 28, 1967, at Brookfield, Connecticut. Kari is the daughter of an American-born father from Germany and a German-American mother. Kari's three siblings are all of them. In her early years as a teen, Kari performed in nightclubs by sneaking away from her home. Kari began studying acting when she was just 13 years old. She then studied acting at the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University and Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College in addition to at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in collaboration together with Uta Hagen, a renowned instructor. Kari started acting when she was in her teens, her first break on television coming from the 1987's MTV Remote Control.
